Audio problem with laptop - nothing but static!?
I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 laptop. The problem just started around 5 hours ago, when I powered on my laptop from sleep. There is nothing but a very loud static noise coming from my laptop. At first, I thought it was a problem with the fan, but then after plugging in headphones through the headphone jack, the noise kept on coming through the headphones. When I click on mute, the static sound still persists, however, after removing the headphones, the noise stops. After unmuting, the static continues, but when I press mute again, the noise is still there. I have to do the same thing again by muting and then plugging in the headphones for the sound to stop, so I'm thinking this might be a problem with my headphone jack. I did an ePSA test and did the Perform Quick Audio Check, and I heard all the beep tones. But, when my laptop boots again, the static noise is still there. This is very frustrating, any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
