I would like to upgrade my Laptop memory I have been looking at these types: Corsair Vengance 16GB DDR3L 1600mhz & : G-Skill Ripsaw 16GB DDR3L 1866Mhz ?? or what do you recommend ????? cheers k.
Ha ha trust SoOny to do this. That's actually the Chassis Model, not the laptop model. Sony indicates that the model is on the screen surround.
But I'm tired of playing. Maybe someone else will hep you or you will go to a site as I recommended.
I will tell you this, I doubt t the 1866MHz is the best memory for your laptop. It's extremely unlikely that your laptop will drive it at the correct speed. At best it will drive it at a lower speed, and at worst you won't be able to boot with it.
It is most likely that the Pc is designed to support DDR3 1600MHz memory in SO-DIMM format.

There are many models within the Sony Vaio line. Can you be more specific? THe model number is usually on a sticker on the bottom. Knowing the model may help us determine what the original specifications of the memory is and what will be compatible.
Or, as I suggested, go to a site like this and use their memory advisor to determine compatible memory. http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/memory-finder
All the major manufacturers have sites like this.

Yea, great. No mention of what laptop, what the memory specifications should be. How do you want us to advice you?
Browse over to the sites of yuor preferred mamory maker (Corsair, Kingston, G.Skill) and, depending if you intend to add memory to your current configuration instead of replacing all memory, the manufacturer of hte current memory. On their site you will find a link to "Upgrade Advisor" or "memory Finder" or something like that. It will look at your system and recommend suitable memory, which if you order will come with a guarantee that it will work in your laptop.
