I have purchased a new R9 270x and it will be arriving soon. However I am confused asto whether I need power pins (I think that's what they are called. Main reason for being confused is that my current graphics card (Radeon HD 6450) does not seem to be connect to any power pins and just looks to be inserted to the mother board. I can provide pictures of the inside of my PC if needed. All help appreciated.

Hey,Some graphics card will require more power than what can be put through the Motherboard - if this is the case they will require a 6pin connector directly from the PSU to plug in. Have a look at what spare connectors you have coming out of your powersupply. Should look something like:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/...
Hope that helps
Hi, Would these cables be suitable?
