Yeah it comes in versions , the 4gb card will handle 1080p however it still falls in the same category that I placed it in :(

Thanks for your help! :D  Can I ask, If I did decide to go with everything on my list, replacing just the memory, is it all compatible?

I believe the 770 is a step in the wrong direction , it has only 2gb of Vram which matters a lot as well as its more expensive than R9 290 which beats the 770 by a margin.

R9290X>970>R9290>R9 280X>GTX 770

Sorry if this is completely wrong, but I believe that the one I will get is 4GB? or does that indicate 2GB vram?

A little bit above your budget , Will outperform your rig any day of the week . If you don't feel like getting two R9 290s then replace them with a single GTX 970 , its not as powerful however one gtx 970 is faster than one R9 290.

Thanks for the recommendations. I shall swap out some of these parts for the ones you recommended. I will probably stick with the GTX 770 though. Thanks :D  Apologies, the GTX 770 is not 300 quid, I meant 300 euro, so 240 quid!
