Using both GPU Manufacturers Benefits at Once
I've got an EVGA GTX 650, which I'm upgrading to an R9 280x (Already ordered it) But I'm hesitant to let go of Shadowplay, PhysX, etc. My motherboard has 2 PCIe x16 slots for 2 Graphics cards, could I plug them both in for the benefits of both?

Correct, from my understanding there are some hacky drivers out there. After reading several posts on the topic however, most people seem to think that it does not perform like it should with a dedicated physX card and it actually drops overall performance dramatically. If this was the case it would not surprise me at all. If you really want the Nvidia proprietary features then I'd recommend returning the AMD card and getting a gtx 970 or something along those lines... my 2 cents, I wouldn't be happy with 'homebrew' drivers.

BTW if you plug them in together hoping to switch monitor for the perks that come with each individual card it would probably cause a driver conflict and a ton load of headache ..

no you can only use one at a time unless they are the same manufacturer and from the same generation for example ..amd radeon 4850 with a amd radeon 4870 ... you cant go amd 4850 with a nvidia gtx 560 .. its impossible
