My Rig:
FX 8320 Eight Core Processor
GtX 780 (from 760) SC with ACX cooler
8gb Corsair Vengeance RAM
H80i CPU Cooler
Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0
Games Running on Hitachi 1 TB Hard Drive
OS Running on Kingston 32gb SSD
TX650M Power Supply
I just bought a GTX 780 off ebay since now seems to be the time to upgrade. I am coming from a 760. Both were EVGA SC with ACX coolers. I just got it yesterday and put it in. The thing is, I wanted to be able to bump up the video settings but when I got in game (the testing game was mainly Arma II, but also tested with Battlefield 3, Just Cause 2 and Tomb Raider), the FPS's were exactly the same as when I had the 760.
I'm not so sure about a CPU bottle-neck since my friend with GTX 770 SC ACX is getting better frames and he has an FX 6300.
When I put it in I just put popped it in and booted. GeForce Experience said I don't need new drivers but do I? Did I miss a step? Am I being bottle-necked? Is there something wrong with the card?
I find it a little weird that it not only is a lower FPS than expected, but it is getting the exact same as the previous card. This is what is making me think it is a bottle-neck somewhere.

Here is a comparison in Arma II. It's just the first minute. Didn't mean to have the empty space at the end.

I completely wiped and re-installed the drivers as well as the software with no luck. I ran a game and the idle temps. They were both 32 C on corsair link and 17 C idle and 31 C in game on MSI Afterburner. I'll give it a shot in my friends and vice versa and see as soon as I have a free moment.
Arma only uses 2 cores basically, so 6 core or 8 core doesn't matter.
Does your friend have a higher clockspeed?
