Radeon 7970 gpu
I recently bought a msi radeon 7970 oc boost edition and I cannot go past the "choose an operations system" on windows 8.1. I have a 850watt psu so I know it's not voltage, I have a amd quad core and 16gb ram on a asus m5a97 r2.0 board. I cannot even get into my sign in screen it only displays a black screen with the mouse and that's it, would this be a gpu issue or what? Please help

Thanks a lot man, I plan on getting a amd fx 8 core pretty soon do to the bottle neck (FYI i have it clocked from. 3.2 to 3.7 ghz stable and all asus power savers are off)

That processor will definitely bottleneck a 7970. You might only be getting no more than 60fps becasue your monitor might only have a refresh rate of 60hz which would only reflect a maximum of 60fps anyway.

It's a driver issue. Go back to your old GPU, uninstall the old drivers and then change the GPU.
