Looking to get a new graphics card all suggestions are welcome. Please don't suggest above the range.
My specs:
I7 960
Mb: Gigabyte x58 ud3r
Psu: antec 750w bronze certified
4Gb ram
I've been running a gtx 460 for 4 years definitely time to upgrade. I've seen the gtx760s come down in price a lot in the last couple of weeks.

Maybe wait for some experts opinion. I dont think you can go wrong with any choice you make. I prefer nvidia too but in that particular case I like the 280 more. More room for higher res and textures with the 3gb and I read that its a good overclocker. Supposedly it can be tweaked to a 280x performance. But this is a personal opinion.

R9 270x is way below 200$. Price wise I would say gtx760 competes with R9 280 in the 200$ range. And in that case I would go with R9 280, but its a close call. In the 240$ range R9 280x and gtx770 I would go for the gtx 770 hands down. A r9 285 for 220$ could be a good choice too.All this is assuming you plan on playing @1080p.
Definitely 1080p for now. I do prefer Nvidia so the gtx760 seems like a good option; if they're closely comparable I would choose that over a R9 280.

4GB is useless at 1920 ... at least it has been so far .... lotta games brag about using more than 2048 MB but if ya read this....switching from 4 GB to 2 GB brings about no change in performance, image quality or anything else..... and that's even at 5760 x 1080 ... sometimes ya gain a frame or two ... sometimes ya lose a frame or two..... some day Im sure it will make a difference but not yet. At least I have seen no published test showing it does.

Tossup.....At 1920 x 1080, the GTX 770 @ $235 makes the most sense with your budget ... it's 3% faster than the 280x with both at stick .... a lead that increases when both systems are overclocked ..... also less heat, less power and less noise
At 2560 tho, they switch, the 280x is 1% faster at stock, but the 770 takes over as both are overclocked due to have more OC headroom.....cheapest "name brand' 280x is $5 more .... so price doesn't rally enter the fray.

It'll be 1920x1080, would I be better off going with a 4gb 760 as opposed to a 770?
Also what would be my best option for something right at $200?
