Budget Semi-Gaming PC
Hey guys I'm new to the forums and in a bit of a situation...

...partly why I joined...

I have been using a cheapo home build for quite a while with the specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz
Intel DQ965GF motherboard
6 GB DDR2
MSi GeForce GT N210 1 GB DDR3

Topped off with Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Now earlier, I noticed it was running slower than usual (more noticeable in games) so I opened up task manager to check out what's going on. Only the computer just shut off... After trying to turn it back on, I found that it was making a siren sound and crashing (check it out on my tablet and it is a overheating problem)

I got the machine into the BIOS, and checked the temps. The CPU was basically frying itself by speeding up rapidly to critical temperatures. The fans were all fine, but it seems they werent helping. Now the computer won't boot at all. I don't really want to carry on with this build now.

A week today I will be able to get new parts to build a new computer. This excludes hard drives (salvageable) and monitor. The rest are pretty much useless (old case and PSU and stuff) and stuff like RAM can be sold on. I have a budget of £250. I have been looking on eBay for motherboard bundles and came across the 8 GB bundles with a APU (I'm fine with either AMD or Intel). I have said £20 towards a case/PSU bundle and have found some nice MicroATX/ATX cases with 500w PSUs. That narrows to £230 for maybe a new graphics card and a motherboard bundle.

My game list is:

Portal (1 & 2)
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Garry's Mod
Star Conflict
War Thunder
Hawken
(Occasional) Minecraft
And maybe a few more I can't think of...

Now my question is: what parts can I get in budget range (£230) that will play those games in medium/max settings?

Thanks

Will

I am going for a ATX/MicroATX case, and yes I need the components you listed. Also I have a Windows 7 disc and key already.

I am going to need to know what case size that you are buying, that way I can pick an appropriate motherboard. Also, just to make it clear, you only need a new Mobo, GPU, CPU, and RAM? Also, do you already have a Windows Install Disk? Because you're going to need to reinstall your Operating System after replacing these components.
