G'day Folks,
I am seeking some advice/clarification on the following items for my build:
CASE: Fractal design R4
MOBO: ASROCK z97 Extreme 6
CPU: Intel i7-4790k
CPU COOLER - Noctua DH14
GPU: R9 290x OC (Already have)
HDD: Samsung Evo 500gb (Already have)
HDD2: Seagate Baracuda 7200 (Already have)
RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x4gig (8gig) @ 1600 (Already have)
PSU: Corsair 650Watt gold. (Already have)
My concerns are will these articles all fit into the case i have chosen? I was looking at the FracDes XR2 but it just seems too big.
I don't have an issue with the clearance for the RAM as they are low profile. I am more worried about fitting the Noctua D14 to the MOBO and having enough space to fit this into my chosen case.
As well as GPU clearance - the case allows for 430mm(L) clearance if i remove the top cage, however does this mean i lose the conventional drive bays? and will only be able to fit the SSD?
This rig is for higher end gaming with possibility of O/C much later. I will be running it as is for the moment but yes, overclocking in the future. I do not know if i will get a second card, if i do i know i'll have to up the PSU.
I am going with the Noctua D14 because it is still bloody good! There's so many reveiws out there with the only con being size/clearance. I am open to suggestions however i have never used liquid cooling either and would prefer to use air cooling at this time.

No you won't 'need' to update the bios but it's a good idea as they can make minor fixes and improve performance. The easiest way will be to use the windows method once you've set up the PC. Asrock is great at providing step by step instuctions, just click on the pic in the how to update column for instructions.

Good luck with the build and feel free to come back if you've got any more questions or problems.
