Is this video card good?
This is the only gtx 970 in stock. Is it a good card because it's the only one in stock. How do games run on it? And whats wrong with the card if there's any problems with it?

Its not the best 970. I suggest wait for MSI or Gigabyte or even ASUS to come in stock. EVGA is also fine.

Can't say .... haven't seen any detailed reviews yet. The bi-tech 970 article gives ya all ya need to know about Asus, EVGA and MSI ....and the Gigabytes temp and performance results make it look attractive..... but w/o knowing whats on the board, how its cooled and how it performs, can't offer ya anything either way.

The stock clock is rather disappointing ... lowest that I have noticed so far other than EVGA and PNY..... my guess is the reason it's on stock is cuz peeps bought the 1102 and 1203 clocked versions. Many times you'll see it posted that you can "just overclock it yourself" but that may or may not be true. The reason one card overclocks better than another because of what components each manufacturer put on the board and whether or not they decided to provide direct cooling for them. Read the bottom of the page for each card review in this roundup and you get an idea what I am yappin' about.

So no, there's not anything wrong with it per se, but we don't know why it's clocked lower than its two big brothers.

For many the differences won't matter much

There shouldn't be any problems with the card, it is just that seeing as the gtx970 is so nicely priced, it is selling like crazy and the other brands have managed to sell out or they just got new stock in for this card
