gainward gtx 970 no signal
I have

I7 - 3820
16GB 2400 Ram
Tw 850 psu
Asus rampage 4 gene mobo
Windows 8.1 pro 64 bit fresh install

Old graphics card gtx 560
New gainward gtx 970

I shut down my pc unplugged all cabbles. Grounded my self to stop shock card . Unplugged the old gtx 560 put the bew card in plugged same psu cables in 2x 6pin connectors then secured in plugged pc back to gether started up but get no signal the card is running fans spinning all ports on card no signal plugged my old card back in works

Is the card defective

I use a dvi but I tryed all cables
Reset cmos buy remove power then mobo battery
And is plugged into the same pci express sloy as last gpu

Are you using an HDMI cable, DVI-I cable, DVI-D cable, Display Port to connect the monitor?

Also, double check that you didn't select PCI-e 2.0 (compatibility for gtx 560) in the BIOS in case it's conflicting with the cards compatibility. It should be fully backwards compatible but there can be issues with running it in compatibility mode for an older version of PCI-e with a card that supports the newest version.

Try resetting the CMOS and check you plugged into the GPU and not the mobo. Sounds silly but an easy mistake to make.
