are there any intell cpus that can unlock from 2 to 4 cores
im itrested in getting an intell mini itx system but the i5 are so expensive an i was wondering if there are an 2 care cpus that can unlock to 4 cores that support 1866mhz ram an mini itx mobos

No, but I see no reason for this, why? Because the dual cores are still really powerful. A i3 4330 can handle a R9 295x2 than a fx 8350(8core) SOS you get great performance even with their dual cores. As long as your mobo supports the socket for your CPU(ex. LGA 1150 and 4th gen CPU) you are good. But there are exceptions, such as a z97 board can use a devils canyon chip(4690 and 4790) and a z87 can't unless BIOS update.

According to Intel there i3 cannot utilize 1866, but only up to 1600mhz, I personally so not know if you can do it either way, but I have never tried this so.
