Internet Range extender + Surge Protector?
I have a Monster surge protector (the 8 port one), and the internet in my room is pretty bad. I want to get a range extender (something like the "Linksys PLEK400 Powerline AV 1-Port Network Adapter Kit") to get wired internet for my pc. Extending the cable from my modem/router is not an option to consider.

The problem is, From the reviews that i've seen, most range extenders through the power lines block both outlets on the wall, which would mean i couldnt plug my surge protector (along with the rest of my devices connected to it)in the wall.

My question is if I can use the power line adapter attached to the surge protector? does it still work, and if it does, does connecting it to the surge protector sacrifice speed? If i can't use it on the surge protector, please suggest me some other options for me to have wired internet for my pc.

I am not sure what country you are from but these are the ones I use but with a UK mains socket http://www.trendnet.com/products/proddetail.asp?prod=11...

At both the router end which is where my PC is also based and in the living room I have these adapters in the wall with surge protectors plugged into them.

I can see no reason why this would stop a surge protector working.

that sounds great, but will the "surge protection" still work, or will the connection to the pass through adapter mess up the" surge protecting" part of the surge protector :p

Get powerline adapters with a mains pass through. That way you plug the powerline adapter into the wall socket and then your surge protector into the powerline adapter

i mean the powerline range extender blocks both outlets when plugged in, even if its plugged into the bottom one. So if the powerline range extender option doesnt work, what other items can help me get wired internet to my pc?

Surge protectors almost always block the high-frequency signals needed for the powerline networking.

I can't see why they'd block both outlets...
