Strange noise from my PC
So ever since I installed Windows 8.1 on my desktop, i've been having a ton of trouble, from it doing a boot loop, to now, where it jumps randomly to 100% disk usage while i just idle on the desktop, to the point my PC locks up and needs a hard reset. The lock ups are almost ALWAYS accompanied with a very odd noise, a clicking. A random, loud click once every few seconds, then it goes away. I'm unsure if this issue has something to do with my HDD but i'm worried that it is.

Back up any important data, which should be backed up already, and buy a new HDD.

it is an issue with your hdd

try a complete format of your hdd (make it RAW ) and then install win 8.1 fresh

..............
it might be your fan too...the wires tangling and hitting the fan......which stops the fan and cpu gets hot and shuts down
