Graphic Card Compatibility/Queries For GigaByte G41M Combo MoBo
Will Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon R7 240 1 GB DDR5 run on my GugaByte G41M Combo Motherboard (Rev 2.0)? It has a PCIe x16 2.0 slot but I want to know if this graphic card is supported on my MoBo.

My Config :
* Intel Core Duo E7200 2.53 GHz
* 4GB DDR3 RAM
* Corsair CX430 430 Watts PSU
* 160GB Internal HDD + 1TB WD Ultra External

I request you to please answer these questions :
1. Is the graphic card supported by my motherboard and will it be detected/run on my pc?
2. Will the graphic card bottleneck my PC with this config or is it safe?
3. Is this graphic card prone to heating and is it manageable?
4. Is my Corsair 430W PSU enough to power this graphic card and other components of my pc?

Please answer all these questions for me as I'm very confused and I need to know these things before buying the GPU.

P.S : I wish to play low-medium games smoothly without any heating or damage to my motherboard or other components.

Well, good gaming graphics cards start from atleast Rs.6000 can you stretch just abit. What games will you be playing?

I was thinking of FIFA14, PES 14, GTA IV/V, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, and some other such games at low-medium settings.

Well............ I don't know about the other games, but GTA IV will certainly lag badly(GTA V will mostly be no better). I myself have a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 530v and I get only 10-12 fps on the lowest settings :(

The better graphics card for you is(Will be better in the long run):

VP450P is indeed a great PSU, much better quality than CX, but it's rather not needed, R7 240 is a low wattage card, 430W CX can handle it with ease. So if you have that PSU, feel free to go with your current GPU choice.

NOTE: if you've not yet got CX, then please opt for Antec, it's much better quality wise.

No i haven't bought the CX430 yet but the Antec VP550 only offers 18A on it's dual 12V rails, so I am hesitant. Plus since both are 80 Plus Certified and CX430 has 28A on the 12V rail, I was thinking of buying the Corsair one as it offers more wattage on the 12V rails.So, please settle this for me.

No bottlenecks, the card isn't powerful enough to be bottlenecked by CPU. And no, PCIe 2.0 has no difference from 3.0 performance wise, so rest assured, it won't slow down anything. look here, the PCIe gen difference doesn't affect even high end cards like GTX Titan:

And one last question. Is there any better alternatives for my PSU Corsair CX430 or should I stick with this. My budget is around INR 3000. I recently read that Antec VP450 and Seasonic SS400 were pretty good PSUs.

P.S : My http://www.extreme.outervision.com/ recommended PSU Wattage was 282 Watts.

1. Yes it's supported and will run.
2. No bottlenecks.
3. No, it's a low end card and normally doesn't heat up.
4. Yes it's enough.

So it won't bottleneck? And the requirement says PCIe 3.0 but my PC only has PCIe 2.0 port. So, will it run and will this cause games to run slow?
