GTX 970 vs GTX 980 SLI comparison
Is it really worth spending another $400 on two GTX 980's in SLI rather than two GTX 970's in SLI?

Will there be any noticeable difference in 1080p gaming?

A single GTX 980 will be plenty and you can save the rest; if you will be playing at 1080p.

I believe even dual 970 has quite some headroom already for 1080p, so two 980 definitely are overkill. That's my opinión, though.

So dual SLI GTX 980's is overkill for 1080p gaming?

At 60 fps at least, I believe that a single 980 would be more than enough to max those titles, according to Tom's review...
Still, I see that it's quite close, so it could be nice to have the extra power.

I;m guessing that maxing out Crysis 3 or Battlefield 4 on 1920x1080 that two GTX 970's would come in handy?

The performance gains would be minimal against the money spent. Better to save that $400

Actually, if playing on 1080p, what refresh rate does your monitor have?
Because for 60Hz, one 970 would be more than enough, and probably for higher refresh rates, one 980 can be enough. Only on some cases, two 970s would be useful....

There is only about a 10% performance difference between the 970 and 980?
