270x or main display
This is something that has just started happening. I'm not sure what's causing it. I leave my computer on all the time, and when I wake up my computer from being in standby over night my main monitor stays black. I have to restart the monitor several times before it will start showing my desktop. While I'm in the process of restarting it, it will flash my desktop for a second and go back to being black. This has only started happening for the last 3 days or so.

I have Windows 7 service pack 1. I currently have 2 monitors hooked up to my graphics card. The main one that blacks out when being woken up is connected to the DVI-D port it's running at 1680x1050 60Hz. My second monitor is connected to the DVI-I port with a DVI to VGA adapter, and it's running at 1366x768 60Hz. The second monitor doesn't black out when being woken up like the main one does. I am using AMD's 13.12 drivers because they are the most stable for me at the moment. I can't use the 14.xx drivers.

Why do you think this would start happening out of nowhere? Do you think it's a driver issue? It could be a windows issue. It might be my graphics card, or my monitor could be dying. Once I get the monitor to actually display something it works perfectly fine. I would test the DVI cable, but I don't have another one. Do you think the DVI-D port on my 270x is going bad?

Thats probably due to amd zerocore technology forvthat card...

It turns the Gpu off to save power when in prolonged idle..

Update the driver to check if the problem persist
