Hi folks. Upgrading my 6850. Ive all but narrowed it down to..
A) Tri x 290 @ £230
B) MSI Twin Frozr Gaming 290 @ £215
Both free delivery & come with the AMD never settle space edition/3 game bundle.
Im aware the Tri x has better cooling, and **apparently the TF has better OC abilities.
Is the tri x worth the £15?
My budget was £200, then i decided to at least go with the TF at £215, then i seen the Tri x at 230... ive seen so many people sing its praises im wondering if i should break the bank that bit more.. and here i am lol.
The only thing really thats swaying me is ofc the cooling of extra chill from the Tri x, and it looks Bumblebeelicious!
But seriously, would like to hear your thoughts people.
Thanks.
**With regards to the TF having better OC abilities.. a simpleton like me would think the Tri x has better OC abilities as it runs cooler ? .. No?
Edit -- Just read MSI warranty is 3yrs with 10-14 days RMA, as opposed to Sapphires 2yr with 30-60 days.
I know thats probably worst case scenario etc, but even still!
Anyone know how accurate this is ?

Nah the AMD bundle just happens to come with the both of them anyway so wasnt basing my decision on that in any way. I would still pay the prices even without the games. Was just a bonus really.
Yeah think i have been over that review lol, but ty.
Its basically came donw to
Tri x - Runs cool/cooler looking card
£15 more expensive/ would just fit my case
Twin Frozr - £15 cheaper/ 3yr warranty/ Would fit my case better as its sligtly smaller /Ebuyer do free next day, safe delivery.
Runs not as cool/ not as cool a looking card
Going with the MSI i think. Ive got to, with that extra year on the warranty.

You probably already read it but here a review of the MSI R9 290:
http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/zardon/...
I feel both coolers are good really. You should go with the one that fits in your case or which one you prefer.
Here is a round up of R9 290 and R9 290X (It in german but you can translate it easily):
http://www.computerbase.de/2014-05/amd-radeon-r9-290-29...
Personally if i was to get a R9 290 now, I would get the TriX but via Amazon as I have Prime so I get One day delivery. I wouldn't choose a deal based on the AMD coupon, as I believe the R9 290 Trix Amazon doens't guarantee the coupon, since the games offer can be easily acquired through steam sales.

Looking at the reviews from verified buyers on newegg, I might give pause to either one.If these are the two candidates:

Apparently there are some R9 problems:

No mate, im in uk. Using Novatech and Ebuyer. Both reputable sellers. Used Ebuyer many times.
As for the r9 failures. Is that not more to do with the reference cars no?
I didn't think there was an epidemic of r9 after cards failing... anymore than others i mean.
And cant i just send it back again if it happens to fail again & again etc ?
Or do you only get 'one shot' at a warranty?
Appreciate the link, will read through it thanks.
