XFX r9 270x crossfirex frame drops
I've been getting frame drops lately in some games, especially in games using DX9, and I have no idea why. I'll just randomly and gradually lose frames. Just as an example, I'll go from say 120 to around my refresh then below my refresh and between 50 and 75 and after I'll get random frame spiked drops. Lowering settings gives me the same outcome. I'm running Windows 8.1, AMD drivers 14.9.1, it was happening on 14.9 too. Before that I was running Windows 7 and 14.7. Also sometimes my 1st gpu will randomly only run up to 1000mhz on the gpu core when it's supposed to run at 1050mhz just like the twin gpu I have it crossfired with. Not sure what's up with that either. I thought I'd get the opinion of the community on the situation/how to fix it/and possibly what version of driver I should use as I'm on Windows 8.1. The gpus run at core: 1050mhz and memory at 1400mhz, no overclocking other than factory clock settings. My cpu is an FX 6300 - at 4ghz 6 core. Hyperx Black Kingston 1600mhz 4x4gb for 16gb total that run at 1.65 volts for 1600, but I currently have them at 1.5v at 1333mhz.

the x 6300 is not exactly known for high fps pushing 120 fps drop to 60 and see if your still getting drops below it if not its your cpu

It's not my cpu. Even in cpu intensive games I don't get a bottleneck or even close to full cpu usage.
