Lifespan Of Phenom 2 Processors?
Hi there i built my little brother a computer system he was on an extremely tight budget but i managed to get it running here is what i built for him

Phenom 2 X4 ( 955 ) 3.2GHZ
AsRock AM3 N68-VS3 UCC mATX DDR3 Motherboard
700 watt power supply
R7 260X Graphics card
4GB DDR3 1600MHZ
1000GB Sata HDD
cit-saturn-midi-tower-gaming-case-with-2-x-blue-led-fans

Yes you may ask the CPU is kinda old by todays standards XD but it was my trusty old CPU that lasted me 4 years same with the board although my old board was replaced a few times due to malfunction and faults the board hes using was cleaned up new battery installed also the stock heatsink was brand new as i never used it for my FX 8320 Build

So my question is what upgrades does this system hold for him in the future i thought the R7 260X would be a great mid level card for him as its affordable and has great performance for the price without cpu bottleneck also the 1600MHz RAM will help with transfer speed i grabbed him some High quality DVI cables too for extra crisp and eye candy

Will this system last i mean it can hit 3.8GHZ stable with the hyper 212 Evo heatsink which helped alot but that was in my old system hes using the stock cooler so its at default stock :-)

What do you guys think

Joe

as long as the system works he should be fine. in a year or two you wont know what the cpu slots amd and intel will be using.
