Where to put 3rd cooling fan
Hey guys I built my first gaming PC. I'm using an i5 4690 with the stock heatsink because I don't plan to oc it at all. I'm also using an xfx r9 280x and I plan to oc it a little.

So to the question. I have one cooling fan at the front and one at the back to exhaust the air out. So should I put the the third fan on the the top of the case where the CPU is or on the side to direct air at the GPU ?

They're all 3 pin.

one of two things.... buy a y splitter and plug the front and side fan into one header on the motherboard or option 2 is to get a 3pin fan to 4 pin molex.

Are any of your fans 4pin or are they all 3 pin fans?

You cannot oc the CPu any way its locked .

Get 2 fans and put one as a top exhaust and one as a side intake.

normally i would say top, but in this case put it on the side. It will blow cool air onto the videocard and cause a positive pressure inside the case forcing air out the top.

It better then the fan on top blowing air out of the case causing negative pressure hoping that it will pull cool air in through the side opening. At least you will know where the cool air is coming in from and do its best to cool the gpu which will in turn move air upwards through the case across the cpu cooler.
