PCI-Express wireless card causing issues on Ubuntu 14.04
Since I installed the TP-LINK TL-WN881ND 300MBPS WIRELESS N PCI EXPRESS ADAPTER I've experienced several issues. The keyboard gets disconected at random intervals, the mouse sort-of loses power (the lazer beam faints) the monitor does not receive any input and the pc reboots. When it reboots nothing is operational. I have to completely cut the power in order for the machine to function again. Plus the signal I get is extremely low for the router being in the next room (laptop gets 4 out of 5 signal).

Thanks for your time.

Since the computer won't reboot with the adapter installed, I presume it's defective. Have you considered an RMA or a different adapter? Remove the adapter and if everything works properly, then you'll know for sure it's defective.
