Asus GTX 970 core clock only 540MHz ?
Hello guys,

I have bought ASUS STRIX GTX 970 today. I ran OCCT power supply test as I wanted to be sure my PSU will have sufficient power. I ran it for a couple of minutes and everything seemed to work fine. Then I looked at graphs generated by OCCT and there was one that disturbs me: http://s30.postimg.org/8uuquhjo1/2014_10_17_11h58_Frequ... ... It seems the core frequency is just 540 MHz ?

I have ran GPU-Z simultaneously with OCCT test then. The OCCT results were the same, but GPU-Z showed followed: http://s29.postimg.org/b447ks87b/gpuz1.jpg

Which of them is correct? Why OCCT shows only 540 MHz?

Thank you in advance.

just restart the computer or reinstall the driver. The gpu throttles itself as the above poster mentioned, but if its stuck at that clock in games, just restart like I said. It happens to me sometimes, I dont know why. Randomly Ill load up a game and my core is stuck at 540mhz, which must be the default underclock since its the same as yours, so I just restart the PC and it usually fixes it.

Graphics cards are designed to clock down to conserve power if not in use.

Run something like Unique Heaven benchmark and you will see the clock speed rise.
