4 X 4GB vs 2 X 8GB
Will be upgrading my 8GB Corsair Vengeance ram (1 x 8GB) and was wondering if there is advantage to buying 4 4GB sticks over another 8GB stick to make 16GB (assuming money is no object). What is the difference between these two options?

Cheers guys.
Asus Z97 AR Mobo which im pretty sure does not run quad channel. Stick with the 2 8GB then?
Out of curiosity, what advantages would come with a quad channel board?

For gaming, nothing, for content creation, some nice improvements depending on what you are doing.

4 x 4GB is harder on the memory controller, consumes more power and will usually result in lower CPU overclocks or reduced CAS timings .... also may require more DRAM voltage

Nothing significant unless you have a quad channel enabled board.
