Hard Drive Missing
Last night I started a large transfer from my PC shared folder to my wife's hard drive, this morning when I went to check on it the hard drive i was transferring the file to has vanished. I have looked at the cables and all of them are in place, and nothing other than the transfer was done. Can someone please help us.

I think your friend is right. If it isn't showing up anywhere then chances are it has died. Sorry.

Not sure the transfer finished since the drive it was going to has gone missing, and no it is not showing up in Disk Management. It was an internal hard drive also. We looked at everything possible and had a tech based friend look at it. We have come to the result that the drive burned out during the transfer. That's what i came up with but if anyone has other ideas I'm open to anything.

Did the transfer complete? Also I am assuming it was a usb external drive. Sometimes if the setting is not turned off, the usb ports will be put to sleep to save power. If none of these are the case, remove the drive and plug it back in, either in same or another computer. If it doesn't show then there is a problem with the hard drive.
