Would connecting my laptop to the TV for gaming be easier on my laptop?
By "easier" I mean that the laptop won't get overheated so quickly. I thought if I play games off the TV screen instead of the laptop screen maybe my laptop wouldn't be blasting the fans the whole time trying to keep cool.

I will also buy cooling pad for my laptop, FYI.

No it will not cause your laptop to generate any less heat. The heat is coming from your CPU and GPU processing information, the monitor itself is not really a factor. Depending on the resolution of you laptop monitor and TV screen you may find a difference in performance.
