ASUS Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 CPU LED red out of nowhere
After 2 - 3 months my pc just randomly shut of and when i try to turn it on again it the red CPU led in my sabertooth 990fx r2,0 will turn on and the computer wont do anything.

I was playing some modded MC when this happened, note i also think the pc randomly restarted before the incident happened, (left for 10 min and when i was back it was at locked screen and all the programs i was using where gone, i dont know if it was windows update neither?

Current State
when i plugged it MoBo turns the green led that indicates it has power, i can connect my phone and it still charges.
When i turn it on, all fans that are connected directly from the psu turns on but those that are connected that are directly connected to the MoBo wont (heat sink fan and VGS fans. and it stays like this, also cpu temperature doesnt rise on my case temp checker

-PC-
MoBo = Asus sabertooth 990fx R2.0
CPU = Amd fx 8350
VGA = MSI GTX 660 OC gaming
PSU = Corsair CX600
RAM = Gskill Sniper 8gb
HDD = 500gb and 320gb
Heat sink = Cooler Master T80 (i think)

Ambient temperature = 30C - 32C

i think i still got chance to get a replacement, but i'm not currently in the US so i rather send just the defective piece, if there is no way i can fix it here.

Well anyway thx, i read i few dozens of those thread and they all landed on changing the MoBo, plus i doubt it was the CPU since it marked around 40C on my case and socket temp will be around 50C (heard that 75C was the highest before affecting the CPU)

ya that friend deal can help a bunch to test things out as for the giga board as I said my buddy went with the 990fx ud3 and last I heard and seen it was all good that's all I know on the gigabyte

''although ppl keep saying sabertooth is better, '' well you get that same line here at toms

so then why do asus threads out number the rest like 100 to 1 ?? not saying you cant get a lemon from any brand , but dang

dude I wish I knew what to tell you for the better but I don't -- funny too as long as you been posted where are them asus fan boys at to help you on this ??

sorry man wish I could do you more

after tweaking a little my MoBo best beat is to change it, i wish i had a friend with similar PC so i can test it more accurately.
anyways to finish the question, is there any MoBo you will recommend me, you said your friend got a gigabyte 990fx ud3 is there any good new about it? what about the asrock 990fx extreme 9

im sticking with amd bcz i down want to waste even more changing to Intel
also what about the gigabyte 990fx ud5 seems like it has very similar specs to that of Sabertooth (although ppl keep saying sabertooth is better, dont know why)

well as I see it asus likes red lights and they keep rolling in here at toms heres another one just posted

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2338937/red-led-...

you know I posted this on another asus red light thread

when I come here to toms and click to show all threads it states -- 1795113 results:

and just asus with red light issues is --310443 results

that's like what?? 20% of all the threads here at toms??

i know what u getting to, but it my case what if the MoBo was good but the CPU died bcz of sudden high voltage, it will be crap if it actually happen...

Anyways when i took the VGA and HDD out it worked for a While maybe a minute it started marking the VGA Led than it went back to the CPU_led. Wonder if it means that is still save-able

well see your now getting to where we were is it this ?? so you tinker with it buy a part to see well no that's not it so then you look at that tinker with it buy a part tinker with it and no that's not it
maby the psu failed in some way and not supplying the board its correct power ?? well now you buying a part to see if that's it and then find well no its not

so you see where I'm going with this?? as I said and not to make you feel bad or hurt your feelings but we had 4 total sabertooth boards and they were all just crap , buggy, bsod , never stable , bla bla bla .... junk

I wish I could tell ya this is what it is and have you going but if its something you cant put you finger on and say this went out , your looking at some time and money consuming tinkering

for us replaceing the board resolved our issues but that don't mean it will form you its just funny that we had 4 boards bought at 3 different tims with different parts between us and all were a fail in some wat and the one we rma was just as bad ???
one bad board is just bad luck but that we had was just bad quality all around from asus .

maybe some one else here will jump in and have something better for you to try I hope so for your sake so good luck..

btw before i actually try to get a new MoBo, i want to make sure thats the problem. If i see that the fans arent turning on and all the other stuff in the MoBo to, but i can get energy out of it (i can charge my phone through the usb and fans connected to peripherals are working) is this a MoBo issue or indeed by CPU is dead/toasted

I went intel -- asrock myn buddy went gigabyte 990fx ud3 and his son went asrock 990fx extreme 9 I think

well my saber is collecting dust in its box in the closet right now alos we rma one of our boards to asus and after a bit of fuss they sent back what looked like a ''referb'' board that had its own issues .. it was like they just swap out the boards in the hopes you can get some ones trade in headache to work , sad

ya with all the partsa we spent on them and swaping things out all we found was the sabers teeth sunk deep in to our bill folds

lol i remember reading those lines in one of those dozen of thread i read on this forums. Anyway which MoBo you using now? I picked the sabertooth bcz i heard it was one of the best for overclocking (planing to do some future over clocking when i get some water cooling system)
