GPU running hot for no reason.
My GTX 980 (Reference cooler) is perfect. Been running amazingly temp wise & preformance wise, until today. My Antivirus needed a update (AVAST) So I did.. Then it needed to restart & after that it's been running quite a bit hotter.. Before idle = 30c now idle = 36-40c , Before load was 75 or so (it's overclocked to 1400Mhz so pretty good temps) Now it's hitting 78c... All because of a restart, I uninstalled Avast & still it's running hot.. So honestly just wondering how it could be running hot from just that.

Thanks.

No not at all, I'm saying from restarting my PC I had 3c load & 5c idle temp change, So for no reason

its only 3*C hotter right?

At load yes, But at idle it is around 5 or so.. still odd from doing nothing but a restart..

maybe the room where u stay got hotter with 5/10 *C(that can have a bit of an effect to the gpu temps)or u installed a program that is running in background. But it's not like avast gave supplements to the gpu and now its having a muscle soreness

The room is the same temp it was before. And no other programs were installed, I'm really stumped on this.. I hope it wont hurt it in anyway.. Still hate to see my hardware hot.
