As the title states, I am building a pc for the first time. I am attempting to use a NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) as the case, which has been done all throughout the internet. ( I may advise looking it up to give yourself some background) My goal is to be able to emulate up to PS2 and Gamecube on this PC whilst using their respective controllers through USB slots. I have got advice from here and there and now have a product list I think is going to work.
Keep in mind:
Budget is not extremely vital for me, I don't mind paying good money for an emulation box that will last.
I need good ventilation / heat management, as simply as possible, due to the fact I have been known to play Super Metroid and Punch Out! for hours on end.
I am wanting to order these parts as soon as possible and complete it by Christmas at the latest.
I do not care whatsoever how noisy the system is, just as long as it remains cool. (Although the quieter the better)
All parts should fit within the case, and I am attempting to use the original power and reset buttons for the PC.
Here is my current list (just from what I've compiled from advice and reading):
GIGABYTE GA-B85N Phoenix-WIFI LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i3-4370 Haswell Dual-Core 3.8GHz LGA 1150 54W Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 BX80646I34370

G.SKILL Value Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-8GBNT
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series SV300S37A/120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Now,
What I need to know:
First and foremost, are the current components compatible, and well-suited for my use?
What power supply should I use?
I have seen many of these builds use PicoPsu's but I just need a suggestion on a specific one of correct wattage for the parts.
I am contemplating using an external HDD to store the bulk of my games, and use the SSD to run the operating system, as well as save space within the case. Is this optimal?
