Asked to insert boot media before before bios splash
So a common error people have is getting the message:
"Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" when starting up.

MY issue is that this error will often come up before the BIOS splash screen, and I never get a chance to select the boot media from the BIOS. But this only happens sometimes (most of the time). I end up having to try restarting over and over until I can get into the BIOS.

I've also set the boot order to point to the proper hard drive and disabled the other options, but it seems to ignore that too -- I have to select the drive to boot from using the keyboard, that works flawlessly. So why is having the default (and only) boot order set to point to that drive not working? And why does the "Reboot and Select...." message come up before I can even access the bios?

I have an ASRock X79 Extreme6 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
I've also flashed/updated the bios, no change in behavior.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

--Also I have the display time for the bios splash set to > 0 (I think I have it at 2-3 seconds)

I would try reseting CMOS, and if that does not work then you might have to risk reflasing bios.

Is the board still under warranty?
