I'm planning tu buy a gtx 970, and i'm not sure if the motherboard could affect the gpu performance. It is possible?

You will need a 500 watt good power supply. Not a cheap one. You need toget a measuring tape and or ruler an see how much room you have. You will need at least 9.5 inches plus room to install the card. ! - 1 1/2 inches. If you do not have a reference model that blows the air out the back of the case. You need a case with very good air flow. Those of us who build Gaming Computers would most likely not do what your are trying to do. I do not really recommend it. I cannot gaurante it will work.
