You might as well keep whining - dual cores have become the way of the industry and it's not goint to just return to single cores because you raised a stink. If you asked me, multiple cores have become the new gigahertz race, and it'll only end when the industry hits a wall like Intel did with the Prescott. Then they'll move on to something else, but no, then you'll be there, whining about that too.

If you're goint to whine, go do it in the corner.

Good point, although this isn't a religious forum I'd like to point out to WRONG that yes, there is one God according to those who believe in him. BUT HE IS 3 PEOPLE! You guys arent very nice. however missguided it is an opinion. dual cores would be more like 2 roads instead of one. dual cores are great. wiether running 2 or more programs at once or games written to use dual cores, they are nice.

Well said, I'd forgotten about that. I've not read the Divine Comedy in a long time. As for how many cores, I have no idea. Probably just enough to keep pace with todays demands? I'll let Intel and AMD decide what they want to do, after all I'm not a fanboy I'm just an end-user who wants the best (which does mean multi-core at this day in age)

BTW, I wouldn't go so far as to call Wrong stupid...yet. He hasn't seen any benefit to owning a multi-core chip. Maybe extremely short-sighted to the point of semi-retardation would be a better word (phrase?).

Wrong, there is a benefit to having multi-core processing - it accomplishes the same amount of work in a shorter time span. For example - an FX-57 at 2.8 GHz takes 5:00 to encode a half-hour HD video. An XF-60 with two cores at the same speed (2.8 GHz) would take roughly half the time. (I don't care if I got the time span for encoding wrong - I'm proving a point)

If encoding vides is your job, wouldn't you love to be able to complete your tasks in half the time? That doubles your productivity...which is a good thing.
