For LGA775 ??? I thought the 590 for Intel was not out yet. I did look in the Asus site and the only motherboards with this chipset are the AMD ones.

Are you on drugs or just stupid? Hundreds of American companies operate in Canada. Canadian companies operate down in the states. Hell over in Alberta most of the Oilfield industry is American companies. You guys jeallous that we have more oil, and water then you? I mean come on. i am in the U.S. and sure am happy to participate in this contest,,,but if this contest was in canada or eu only, im sure i wouldn't be as pissed about it as you people are.

I just think it's funny that people are getting pissed at fellow loyal readers of THG, simply because the contest is only open to US residents. Settle down and it's not a good reason to start hating the website that has probably taught you much and helped you through a hardware problem or two. I can't say for a fact, but I would assume THG is only opening it to US residents for a very good reason, not to spite readers from outside the US.

Keep in mind we (Americans) have to live daily under the leader we call President George W. Bush. If one of you foreigners will take G.W.B. into your home and keep him silent for the remainder of his years, I will direct mail you the $10k PC that I'm going to win and pay for the postage!

I'm actually surprised this thread isn't closed down. I think they should change the contest and only allow Mexico to enter. Maybe it will help them break into a new demographic. Although I'm sure with 99% US readership it makes little business sense to target anyone else.

You'd rather spend money and resources developing something to beat the other countries simply because you can. What's this? Adoting someone else's technology, even if it means it will be safer and better for the world? Bahhh, that's unAmerican!

You spend tons of money and manpower forcing countries into rehabilitation they didnt want. Look at Afghanistan, Iraq and other middle-eastern countries you forced yourselves into. Nobody is blaming the americans for THG's decision to make the contest US only. We're blaming THG for making the decision to selectively outcast 96% of the world's population due to shipping costs and to outcast the 0.5% of the population that has free shipping costs (North-America).

Has anyone thought that maybe Falcon ponnied up most of this machine for the advertising benefits...and I think they are an American company and thus only want American marketing data they'll get from the contest submission form. So really, you're lucky not to get in the contest...because if you enter your data you'll be spammed for the rest of your life with marketing crap and zero chance of actually winning anything.

for us Aussies thats $13,513.... thats about $10,000 more than my PC... I think its a great setup, and it prooves that THGC can make a decent hi-end pc and give it away to readers.. i think its great..

I wish you had choosen Overdrive PC (Selling X6800 3.76 on air!) instead of FNW, but all the same I'd love to have that rig!

Perhaps the US only issue is not THG's but laws imposed by the governments of both the US and your own country's. Sorta like killing the messenger isn't it? Used to be 128bit encryption was restricted to US only, did that upset you guys that much? Falcon Northwest is a US based overpriced supposed high end builder so for all you Canadians for example do you know the hassle it is to send something into your country even with free trade, forms, fees, more forms, more expense and I don't think it's because THG made it that way. I believe that it's sender's responsibility to cover costs and recover them after the fact if required. Has THG given away things previously to readers in countries outside the US? I'm sure that if they were allowed either legally or finacially that THG wouldn't intentionally exclude anyone.
Yes I do live in the US but I could put together a much better system for half what they gave to FNS. It just sorta seems like it's a bunch of parts they had layin around to put with a core2duo extreme. Nforce 5 series boards are just around the bend, Corsair has 1066 cas 4 mem now, Plextor drives are usually the best but go find compatible media, logitech 5400's have been consistantly reviewed as a lesser model when compared to the z5500's let alone Klipsch. This is a high end gaming system with onboard audio? My goodness they didn't even have a Sound Blaster audigy SE? Never ever heard of Sanyo associated with anything computer related except noisey fans, move alot of air but noisey, thus the reason for the PAX insulation. Even if it were just sales tax you'd have to pay which I seriously doubt, it's too much to pay for the cpu, the 7950's and maybe the 500gb drive to use in a different system and sell the rest if you could in a reasonable amount of time.
