On a very practical note, read Thomas Friedman's "The World is Flat." Half the book is about the how current computing is affecting our world.

Claims of others ignorance without adding to the conversation, making a statement or showing a small amount of intelligence...  hmmm... enough said

Yep, the usual reaction.

Perhaps I was a bit blunt on my remark; my apologies for that.

Never mind.

Actually, I'm ignorant (among many, many other subjects) about programming (and I don't intend to become an expert, at all). However - and that's why this is a CPU forum - I try to educate myself on matters pertinent to the discussions & make educated (i.e., the best I can) contributions to the interested.
As for speculation, there's wild speculation & eductated speculation; sometimes, even wild ideas are interesting & pertinent... as long as there's a consistent knowledge background to support' em.
Take your original statement, for instance:

Unfortunately, the world of physics is meeting the world of computers

(Even if I can try to contextualize your affirmation, regarding the physical limitations...), are you sure this is an acceptable statement? And yet, no-one seemed to give your first post much thought, using constructive criticism.
Although put a bit harshly, my point was to bring up your attention to the flaws in it. There's no prob being ignorant; however, one must be more careful with what one posts here, speculation or not, since all contributions should be helpful & not misleading.

I'll leave this thread now, since there already is one on this subject, started before your's. If you're interested, here's the link:
