You guys keep talking about the X800GTO being $3 more than the 7300GT. Where can you actually buy it at such price? Everywhere I looked the 7300GT costs around $80-90 but the X800GTO is around $150!

Hey, sorry for not being able to reply earlier.

Anyway, I'll be back in Malaysia in 2 weeks times, that's after my finals. I'll be there till 5th January 2007, before I go back for my new semester.

The X800GTO prices has already increased. :(

And I'd recommend a newer card, which is 7600GT 256MB GDDR3, which is going for $120, comes with $20 mail in rebate, to a total of $100 after rebate.

I'm kinda new here but I just wanted to compliment the OP for a job WELL DONE!

I like your method of presentation. Even if a person does not follow your list EXACTLY, this is a good guide for a novice or budget builder to learn how to price shop and compare specific components.

Intel's ruling the market at the moment with their C2D's ...
Before I build my next system, I might wait till the real Allendales release, during early 2007. They will be running on 800MHz instead of 1066MHz, and we'd only need DDR2-400 to run at stock, and could overclock a hell lot with a 667/675MHz DDR2 ... we'll have to see if they overclock well ... If I do happen do build one of those in, I'll write another cool guide as an update over this one ... :)

Not to mention the cheap a$s prices on P965 by then  :D

C’est magnifique, mais ce n’est pas la guerre.

Hopefully the RD600 proves to be a better OC chipset than 965P.

It is, it definitely is. Just imagine a Ultra-D for Intel

I'd have to see how well they overclock, coz my main concern is my budget. If the price is a bit too outrageous, it'd pass out on it at least for a while. I don't think I can afford CrossFire nor SLi ... meh ...

Price and overclocking, they both will be outrageous
I might be going to fanboy here, but to hell with that.
