I know this is a bit off topic but how would the Asus P5W64 with 4 x 16 PCI slots compare with the 680i.

I am aware of the no SLI but aside from that I would think there is more room for enhancements, or am I just wrong?

Its not only about SLI, its about its massive overclocking capabilities whose only competition will be RD600.

I was thinking about this ram:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820220144

256.99 After Rebate ain't too shabby either - especially with the way prices are right now. I've heard that they are giong to drop after the first of the year, but I think I'm going to go ahead and get 2gigs anyway.

Does anybody else have any suggestions/comments about this ram or other ram?

If you're going to want to overclock, you should not get ddr800 memory. Go with at least a decent ddr1066 memory or higher, since that's what you're going to be shooting for.

It seems there are a lot of thoughts on this matter. I have heard some say that you can easily take a 800 Mhz modual to 1066 and beyond if you know what you are doing. In all honesty I don't know how true this is because I have never overclocked. But I am interested in how, why and what makes it better (in the sense of overclocking)

It seems that alot of ppl is having trouble going over 470Mhz on it. Due that most probably is using either a very low binning Micron chips or Elpida ones...

If you want trhuly the best ram to OC, what you need are the best chips. The Super Talent T800UX2GC4 uses the Micron D9 chips. Its the same chips Corsair uses in their high end Dominator series just to give you a clue of their potential. Its even better than what most brands use in their 1066 modules.

Ok, I'll look into that ram then - I'm not very experienced (In Other Words....not at all) when it comes to overclocking, so I'll have to look for a guide on overclocking ram. I've been wanting to get into it, but really haven't had the chance. I'll look for that Super Talent T800UX2GC4

**EDIT** Here it is:

So this is what you recommend?

You dont need, when you raise the FSB youre overclocking your RAM too.

Will there be problems with the Asus board's onboard sound if I already have a soundcard? I already have a soundblaster X-fi, and I would rather have a wi-fi application than the onboard audio. Has anyone heard of the specs on any competitors yet?

I know Burger King does not make motherboards, so I'll get what's available, but I don't want compatability issues with the components I already have.

No problems whatsoever. Just make sure to disable the onboard sound in the BIOS.
