I hope they rigg it so I get gold for Australia.

Reply to amdfangirl

I don't think any of the computers at the LHC use Windows.

They don't actually want to create a black hole ...

That would be a disaster because there is no way to contain it ... well at least that I can think of repulsing antimatter without huge amounts of energy being unleashed locally (sorta defeating the purpose of pushing it out into space by destroying everything in the process).

The LHC workers would also get sucked into a gravity well with a huge time dilation locally ... the people there would not be able to communicate effectively with us to resolve the issues.

It would take about 4 million seconds to eat the planet ... looking from afar that is.

My attention span wouldn't handle 8 weeks ... I can barely manage an hour.

I don't think it can generate enough energy to find the Higgs Bosun anyway ... or create a black hole as such.

Still ... messing with their stuff at the LHC is pretty stupid ... that frontier science stuff is important.

More important than Mad Max 4 ... ?? Hmmm ... I'd have to think about that.

Your not an Aussie are you?

Surely we couldn't have made you locally?

Hang on ... we did make those Sigma engines a few years back ... plus the latest Vegemite wasn't a hit either. Plus my neighbour has a retarded kid.

You could be one of them throwbacks we get once in a while.

Is your real name Darryl or Earl ?

Did you ever get told off for licking the oil stains on the road outside your house?

Reply to reynod

Here is a taste of what I am doing for my current RPL Assessment Toolkit project - I have stripped the formatting. This is part of the interview question section but there is a self assessment, practical, documentary checklist and third party validation component as well:

Key points to be addressed by the candidate
 Copy profile.
 Cut out template.
 Construct frame.
 Run mould.
 Install. Assessor’s notes

Pretty boring I know ... But I have just finished a toolkit for W144 and I am finishing one for W146 over the next couple of weeks.

Jeez ... bad audience eh?

It is from a solid plastering assessment toolkit.

Doing Wall and Ceiling Lining too ... I believe you call those chaps "Drywall fixers"?

And I just write the stuff and map it ... I get the lecturers to test my stuff.

Did Carpentry and Joinery (Construction Carpentry) and Bricklaying a couple of years ago.

Have applied for some grants for next year to keep going with a new Fastrack delivery model ...

I find it interesting ... meh.

Keeps me busy.

One of our Ceiling Fixing apprentices won National Apprentice of the year a couple of weeks ago ... yeehah !!

Are a lot of homes around your patch timber frame on stumps and bearers?

I like the US pine ..

Here in WA it is mostly double brick on concrete slab.

Reply to reynod

Here is CA for now, Ive lived worked elsewheres.
In California, its slab wood frame and drywall with paint or stucco exteriors.
Elsewheres, its cinder block with wood framing, and basements as well, being non earthquake areas.
Heres one for the guys, if the wording carries:
Whats the difference between a regular woman carpenter and a lesby one?
Regular uses studs, les, tongue and groove

My mate Titch loves Casey more than his wife ... has 2 Dukes ... watches every race.

He will be watching ... consuming a few cans.

I'm going to watch more Sci-Fi.

Can't handle the noise ofthe bikes ... I love watching Bathurst every year with the Touring Cars ... bit of an Aussie religous event that one.

Melbourne Cup
Australia Day
Bathurst
Footy Grand Final MCG
State of Origin Rugby ... oooh yeah!!
One Day Cricket Matches (any)
F1 Albert Park
F1 Bikes Phillip Island
Christmas
New Years Eve
Easter

That's about most of our major religious events.

Please correct me if I am wrong or missed something significant ...
