Sorry for being repetitive... but:

Nobody can buy Vista at this time. Companies havent begun selling computers with VISTA, and only large companies are attempting to implement the OS.

The card IS ready for VISTA, and Vista isnt out yet. Just because you were able to Download the RTM copy, doesnt entitle a whiny rant about it not working.

Wait till VISTA is actualy out for purchase, then complain.

Amen to that

Well there is the aero glass. That could be a reason to use Vista. Though one could go to wincustomize.com and download a vista skin w/aero glass for windows XP. ...

If more people knew this....

Man, they can't even get 8800 drivers to work right with WINXP. Don't even expect it to work with Vista properly. Check NVIDIA's forums. There are a lot of angry people with a lotta problems there.

I had to buy a new monitor just so the 8800 would work properly since there are compatibility issues out the motherfreaking wazoo. Game shaders are off, artifacts, monitors being fuzzy, monitors not working...long lists. Some have been fixed, some not.

If you guys spent a few hundred bucks on cutting edge technology and it's not all you dreamed of, you'd be a lil unhappy eh?

And yeah, cut me down for trying to use a 32inch LCD that damned near cost me a grand with a 450$ card and then had to buy another LCD just to use it properly when the 32inch worked fine with a 6800 and 7600...and still does when hooked back up.

G80 drivers blow at the moment...people have the right to be upset cause it's their money.

OP, boo to you for buying stuff on release and bitching about it not working right for at least a month now

Thank you NVIDIA FANBOYZ for keeping it topped. You all need girlfriends and PCS since it is obvious you all are xboxers.

Since nobody could refute the issues I brought up, GFY !

Sorry, but I am not a sissy whineing stupid homo like you, so I don't need to gf-myself and heres why:
1. I have a Girlfriend (cute blond with blue eyes+big nockers too!) and we are getting married around april. (She thinks you are such a whiner too!!)

2. You are the one that sounds like you need a girlfriend but I bet that you are TOO STUPID that you couldn't keep one, or KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH ONE, OR HOW TO PLEASE ONE, if you even had one. Go f- your hand you HOMO!

3. Your points HAVE BEEN refuted, your just TOO STUPID to notice.
Go reread the posts!!!

4. I don't play the xbox much except to play halo 2 (and 3, when it comes out) and when they both come out for PC I won't need it anymore.

.............................................AND FINALY:............................................

5. WE ARE NOT NVIDIA OR MICROSOFT!!! AND WE DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR STUPID, Premature DX10 WHINEING RIGHT NOW, IF WE CAN PLAY ALL DX9 GAMES (eg. ELDER SCROLLS OBLIVION) WITH EVERYTHING TURNED UP TO THE MAX AND SOFTSHADOWS ENABLED AT THE SAME TIME WHILE WE FLY RIGHT BY EVERY ATI CARD AS IT CHOKES ON THOSE SETTINGS     !!!!!

( that yelling is for all of us guys that tryed to get it through his stupid head.)

SO, in conclusion... Send one of us your card, (you stupid womanless fag boy) and we will put it to good use because you obviously don't know what it's good for; or a Woman either.

I just purchased a 8800gts and have had no problems at all.

Monitors I use 22in gateway (1680x1050) and a 19in Samsung 1280x1024)

What possible monitor conflicts could there be? Are you saying dual link isnt working properly (30inch lcd).

And this is to be expected with each brand new technology. Its hard to accept when your the one spending the money, but it is the price to pay to be a first adopter.

How is it the retailers fault that the card doesn't live up to your expectations? They have a no-return policy because of dumb-asses like you. Same reason a lot of places have fees for returning stuff. You took it out of the box and used it, you can't just return it because you decided you didn't like it and expect to get all your money back. You should have researched it more carefully BEFORE buying it. If the card was defective or unsafe you have a right to return it for a refund, not just because you don't like it anymore. It's not defective, but maybe it did give you brain damage... you could try to sue nVidia for that.

I could also go on about how Vista isn't released yet, and that you're complaining about lack of driver support, not lack of compatibility, but it seems people have nailed that one pretty well already and will likely continue to do so.

So really: don't put the retailer through a bunch of pain with your fradulent CC claim. You were the cheapass who bought from a store without a good return policy. nVidia made the card, not the retailer. Stop expecting retailers and manufacturers to kiss your ass after they wipe it for you and maybe we can all enjoy lower prices and higher quality products.

Who buys from a place that offers no returns... Never worth it, especialy online.

Also, I would argue that if Vista was out, it would be the venders responisibilty of offer a refund if the card they sold was advertised as being able to do something, and it couldnt.

"compatible / ready" are both vague terms anyway.

TROLL ALERT!

Do not! I repeat do not listen to anything this idiot has to say as all he does is lie!

Ok so first you claimed that you own a 8800GTX and now you say you have an 8800GTS? so which is it you troll? The guy is so fukin stupid he probably doesnt even know the diff  He will say one thing in one thread and then something totally diff in the other. Whatever he thinks will make people over the net approve of him

If you guys want to see why this person is a TROLL ever then look no further than here- Yes this is worth a look! He gets his jollies off just Fuking around with people and flat out telling lies so its pretty impossible to trust him. But when have you ever been able to trust a TROLL?

I would like to hear one logical explanation why g80 cannot provide acceleration in Vista 1 month away from 'official' Vista release. If you wanna wave your 1 inch willies around and ignore the issue, feel free. I just wanted to warn off all the poor nvidiots who were stupid enough to believe that VISTA READY meant that you could actually use it with Vista. It is an expensive lesson, if you choose to believe that Nvidia is simply 'finishing up' driver support vs being totally hosed on issues.

hasn't a bus hit you yet? if not, make it happen!

Ya. I buy most my stuff at best buy, and the warrenty for 4 years is really cheap. I have not heard of the monitors going bad though, thanks for the heads up. Great monitor otherwise. I also have a dell 24in which is awesome, but thats being used for the mediacenter Pc.

Do you work for another big company now?
