Jef, something you've got to have a listen to. BBC Radio 1 are in the midst of their "Metallica night" tonight, a 5 tribute to the band. Now, normally I steer clear of this station on the basis that it's DJ's are a bunch of c0cks (Zane Lowe excepted, he is a genuine Metallica fan) since they got rid of Mark and Lard... Anyway, the station is normally chock full of dancey dancey bollocks, R&B tat and Emo-bobbins, yet for some reason, they've latched big time onto the boys. Not that I'm complaining in this instance, if it gives the national broadcaster a chance to re-educate the masses, I'm all for it....

You should be able to listen on line any time after the shows.

One of the slots is their live gig last night at the BBC Radio theatre, a 400 capacity place. 200 pairs of tickets were up for grabs. The site took a battering with everyone trying to get tickets.

for some reason after reading this thread and seeing it on sale for about half price i decided to pick up the black album as i remember my brother having it on cassette.

have to say not my thing apart from the single type stuff but listening to wherever i may roam and it's not that bad.

That's my favourite track from that album. not my favourite album to be honest. It does divide a lot of fans, with some welcoming the bigger, more commercial sound and others bemoaning the demise of the thrash sound (me).

I listened to their set last night. Of all the numbers listed, they (the show producers) only dropped one,. The show was supposed to last one hour, and I was getting a bit twitchy that with only seven minutes left (the show was due to finish at 10pm) there were still two numbers of their set left, Master and Blackened. When I heard Master I was gutted, but they let the show run! Blackened sounded awesome. In fact, the set sounded better than when I saw them at Reading.

For the premier they did here in the states, it was supposed to run an hour, and it was closer to two by the time they finished.

You've got to have a listen mate. You want the part from 9pm til 11pm. The first 70 minutes are the gig.

More taunting.... The BBC are all over them at the moment, they played live on Jools Holland's "Live with..." show yesterday. Last nights was a snippet, the full show is broadcast Friday. From all accounts, they finished with a storming rendition of "Enter Sandman".
