Halo!
I have one question. I purcahse 3 day a go P5Q and Quad 9400. I have problem with CPU temperature in PC Probe 2 (program is with motherboard) because is 125 degresse. But if i see in RealTemp all 4 core is normal? In Everest the CPU temperature is also 125 but every core seperatly is normal! Why the CPU temp is so high? No at all time is 125..time to time show about 40..but when show 125 and i go see in bios (i have last bios) is the same 125? Where is the problem?
And if somene tell me where is the sensor for motherboard temp, because also this in time to time show me abnormal high temp?
Sorry for my english, and if i ask stupid thinks.. but i dont have a lot experience and i have fear if somethings go wrong.

I try now Sensor Test in RealTemp and this is the results:

^ Your Core 0 and Core 1 seems to be stuck. Also try re seating your HSF.

What you mind with "stuck". is something wrong? Procesor is new what can i do?

Reply to prepucij

^Nothing, if you can measure temps with a thermometer that would help. Other than that you can't fix the stuck cores. HOWEVER, read this guide and calibrate temps and you should be OK.

damn :ouch: i had my core 2 quad Q9300 (originally 2.5 GHz) clocked to 3.6 GHz with a good zalmann fan on it, and the temperature was at 80-85 degrees celcuis during stress test with the intel burn test app. it passed only 1 of the 6 tests i ran, so i had to take it down to 3.4. but still, it was stable when i was doing all normal things on my computer. just had to check here as i was concerned for my cpu having too high temperature, but now i know that i will have it clocked a little less while having air cooling and not water ;)

Geez Guy. This stuff is so technical but I have to grind it in. Please make great articles like this with a switch for Printable Version. PLEASE! Hank

I'm too stupid for this guide. However, my question has to do with SpeedFan....have they corrected the -15 degree CPU reading issue on newer versions. I was brought here by this link:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] d-speedfan

Sections listed seemed to be removed from guide. Which leads me to believe this is no longer an issue.

Some one needs to fix this editing topics issue. Iam unable to update my guide on the P35-DS3L. (I wish to add more advanced info, ie volt mod)

Apparently, your guide got truncated.

I'm a little burned by that.

I don't know what to do... yeah I do, I will do what you tell me to.

My complete respect.

Unfortunately I didn't see the truncation until after Google cache updated the page :(

Note 2: SpeedFan - Very flexible and configurable, SpeedFan is the preferred temperature monitoring utility because Tcase and Tjunction can be Calibrated. SpeedFan detects and labels thermal sensors according to various motherboard, chipset and super I/O chip configurations, so the label for Tcase can be CPU, Temp 1, Temp 2, or Temp 3. Even if Tcase is labeled as CPU, it is still necessary to confirm the identity of Tcase prior to performing Calibrations.

uhm.....can someone interpret this? I dont speak geek fluently enough to understand what this means. All I know is, is I have a "temp1" at 57C which is too hot I guess? Everything is good. My 4 cores are all at 0 or below...what is temp1?? :heink:

Quick question Comp, would the SpeedFan calibration method be accurate (at least close to it) for a Phenom II?

Comp, PM randomizer (now a mod), he should be able to help you out with the truncation of the guide.

that was a nice write up, was not aware you have to calibrate temps to more accurate. but it sure was draining reading this. too bad it can't be simplified any more into a step by step guide.

First great thread, I 'm using a asus p6t deluxe v2 w/ i7 950 @ 3.9gig and my idle is 40c-41c. When I try to use thermal analisis tool won't run. I assume it's because I got my hands on a ES chip?If I can't use this software do you think my temps are OK?

Are those LOAD temps Comp? Looks a bit too hot for my liking. Also what's up with the push/pull fan set up? It may be creating a vacuum effect?

Reply to Shadow703793

Comp, any plans on doing this for the Xeons? Mainly the newer Nahelem ones. Also, would it be valid to compair them? For example, E8400 is the same as E3110 so comparing it to a E8400 on the temp scale would be OK right?

Comp, is it reasonable to expect an update for i5 CPUs when they are released?
