Wait a sec, maybe having antivirus on would suck up resources?? I always turn Avast! Autoscan off before benchmarking anything, maybe it is something simple like that?

Oh yeah. I had AVG on while I was doing the scan. How silly of me. Thanks.

but my cousins pc which i just built for him which has a Q6600 running at 3ghz, 8800 ultra, 2 gig corsair ram stock speed hits 13,000 3dmarks. O and a evga 680i mobo
This any good for a system like mine? Keep in mind I didn't downgrade any graphics stuff (themes and visual enhancements), or turn off my NOD av, etc. when I ran it.

My
Q6600 was at 3.0Ghz at the time but I've bumped it up to 3.4ghz since then (1.375 Vcore =()
and 8800GTS 320Mb at stock (because I get artifacts in games due to Vista's crappy crappy crappy drivers, Hope a new one comes soon!)

I scored a 3317 on 3dmark 06, and ive got an extremely good cpu, i dont understand it. Ive got a 5600+ x2 and an okay x1650xt. Whats the problem?
Check my signature for the specs, I score 3600-something with OC GPU and stock CPU (1024x768, noAA, noAF). Your score seems really low. Even OC'd your video card should be giving mine a run for its money. And your CPU definitely dominates mine, hands down.

To Maziar:
Thanks...
(my rig is always running at these speed: Rezerator 1 for CPU (passive water-cooling), stock fan for the GTX (it's one of the very first made...but it OC quite well))
