Just about the only thing that didn't make sense in their $500 build was the $100 power supply. It was a pretty good article and says what it is supposed to.
The PSU is one thing you cannot skimp on. I always buy decent $99 PSU's, even if I get one at a sale price at Fry's for around $59 to $79. Budget or not, a bad PSU can ruin a good system.
