Well I imagine Nvidia has PROBABLY learned something from the 7950x2, remember this is a multi-billion dollar industry, and Nvidia is pretty much one of the biggest players. So let's look at this logically, the 9800gx2 will most likely kick some serious ass no matter what it is, and with the prospect of a $500 price tag for something with so much power, I don't think it will turn out so bad.

Is the 9800gx2 revolutionary? No. But will it once again bring the title of king of the hill back under Nvidia's belt? I'm putting my money on yes, for a time at least. I just can't wait until someone brings out the next quantum leap in GPUs that can take us at least a little ways into the future. (And maybe tame Crysis... just a thought.)

I'm wondering if you're going to have to have an nforce chipset though. I think it'd sell much better if you didn't need one.

It doesn't need an Nvidia chipset, its not SLI its just two GPU's on one card.

was wondering about that because the last GX2 or whatever, needed an nvidia chipset most of the time. I remember there was a few oddball things out there that didn't but I was just wondering because it was kind of confusing me.

No, you should get 2 straight up and Quad SLI them! That might be a good idea if these things rock like they should!

Yeah... the second one seems kinda fishy. I didn't know that "toavoid" was one word. So they can't be real screen shots.

i dont find the heat issue thing too hard to believe. when i had my 7950gx2 that puppy heated up to 110*C in some games, but on average, it was at 102*C.

I don't hold things on Fudzilla to be all that accurate, but I think they do bring some information to the table whether it is valid or not. I'm not saying they have facts or anything like that, but they make do you think about things.

102C, WTF!? That is 215 degree's F. The heat coming off of that baby could easily cook eggs. That's really insane. I guess it's alright if you live somewhere cold though.

They should advertise it as a GPU/heater combo.

sorry to dissapoint I have had dual 9800GTX for over a year now from an extremely exclusive source and it was suggested to me at the time they will be £2400 each.

I only have a few things to say.
1. Pictures are cool to look at, but if they are pictures of the 9800gx2, why is it that at the bottom it states 7950gx2 quad sli setup? That is a little confusing.

2. With respect to lambofgode3x's card, they should take the side panels off and use the computer as a space heater or something. 103 degrees C, good lord. Shouldn't the card shut down to save itself or melt or something? If it didn't/doesn't, then it should be given an award for the most durable card in the world.

3. If stella_monster1 is in any way correct with the price tag, then nvidia should make a limited amount. Only a very few people would consider buying it, even less would actually look at the box and maybe 3 people would buy it.

As with all new hardware, speculations are cool to read and make, but until the debut, that is all it is. We all can't wait to see the real world performance of this card as that is the only thing that matters. Numbers mean nothing as the 8800gt, lower is certain specs, beats the 3870 in gaming.

I'm holding off on my next rig for nvidia to get their act together and release a new card.

Wasn't there an article on not just Tom's, but most news outlets way back complaining about Paper launches and now it's a battle to get all the paper details.

Just funny to me how all this
