Oh, and the imac cannot have RAID. My motherboard has RAID built in at no extra cost. I even have room in my case for three more drives. Can't do that in the imac. Even a cheap dell can have RAID.

Here is why MAC users are idiots:

A few weeks ago, a student came into the computer cluster in the engineering hall. He had to ask the attendant how to turn on the PC. The attendant had to explain to him that the power button on a pc monitor is not the same as the power button on a MAC. Did I mention that the tower was sitting right next to the monitor?

MAC users are real smart. So smart they don't know how to turn on a PC.

well my mate was running one on a 5600 2 gb ram 7900 gt and sound wasn't working and internet and it was really slow and buggy and froze lots.

i find it unbelievable that almost everybody's computer i have been on has been slow and full of virus and all because they dont know basic computer maintenance. and also how people are so stupid to go to pc world and get completely ripped off.....

If your friends have virus issues, its probably because of Warez apps or too many download-this-special-player-to-view-our-porn apps.  If they are slow, I wonder if that is because of memory hogging shareware apps or virus issues.  If its porn, though, make sure to wash your hands after using their keyboard.

Disk fragmentaion is just one issue.  The apps they run can have a very big influence on the memory usage.  Most freeware/shareware/I-made-this-myself-and-posted-it-on-a-download-site kind of programs are bad about wasting memory.  Especially if they load at startup even if they aren't needed.

I was hoping that it wasnt the pron that was slowing the interweb down...
