Can you do 3-10 repeats (right after a reboot)?
Just to rule out anomalies, like background processing.

Also, run one at stock 2.4/1066 with RAM at 533 as well to get a base line to compare against their stock Q6600.

Well that's the second confirmation, the Q9450 at 410 million transistors, same as the duo's with 2 extra cores on the quads, go figure, I can't.

Well the die has 410M transistors but it has 2 of them.
Either the person who confirmed this doesn't know basic math or they don't know anything about Intel quad cores.
Or they think like marketing people => 2x 8800GTS with 256bit memory buses in one card give you a 512bit memory bus /
2x 410M transistors in one chip would mean it's twice as hot as a dual core, but it isn't so lets say it only has half.

This would be the "interesting" part :
First and foremost the quad core Penryn represents Intel manufacturing process moving to 45nm from the current 65nm. In terms of the quad core processor's size, the original Kentsfield Core 2 Quad weighed in at 582 million transistors with a surface area of 284mm squared, while the Penryn "Yorkfield" weighs in at 820 million transistors with a 214mm squared die size. Obviously we can see that Penryn has a lot more transistors and in a much smaller area than the previous Core 2 Quad. Many of those new transistors are being spent on cache. The current top-end "Core 2 Extreme QX6850" has a total of 8MB of L2 cache where this new QX9650 Yorkfield has a total of 12MB in two 6MB units.
