Well the problem solved itself - he was in the kitchen with his Mac lappy (which you have to unscrew the bottom to get to the battery), was eating lunch & had a big glass of lemonade right next to that $2000 Mac lappy, and .... you can guess the rest :D. I told him to shut it off and remove the battery immediately (which we couldn't due to the screws). Rinsed the keyboard with distilled water, let it drip dry for an hour, put it in a lukewarm oven for a day, yadda yadda. This morning it went into the post routine for about 12 seconds and then quit. Nada since then. It's currently sitting back in the warm oven, but things don't look promising...

Scratch one overpriced Mac lappy and score one for ye gods of bandwith preservation :D. [:boudy:2]

Put it in a large plastic bag with rice, the rice will absorb all the moisture

Hmm, my Vietnamese mother-in-law would think it's lunch :D. Seriously, between her and my wife, we buy a 25 lb bag of the 2-goldfish brand jasmine rice every 3 weeks. Before we got married, I would buy maybe a 5 lb bag of Uncle Ben's about once every year. And I didn't know beans about soy sauce back then either :).

Anyway, the kid's mom delayed her flight once again to this Wednesday, after borrowing yet more money from somebody so she can continue partying. In the meantime, she's got a 3" high stack of unpaid bills. So I doubt the kid will be getting a new lappy anytime soon :). Not that he used it for schoolwork anyway, seeing as how he didn't have a printer.

I don't think the points system goes that high (or low) and besides you seem to be the only person to have kept their title anyway, how come?

Hey does anyone know how i can enter my BIOS. i have tryed all the Key commands and nothing has happened. i have a Dell Inspiron i15-157B w/ a Fn key command to toggle the "f" keys

Press F2.
Doing this on startup before the Dell logo disappears and windows starts.
Try it with and without pressing the Fn button.
