Edit: That's weird, somehow my "apply signature" option got turned off. Look at my above post, it has no sig, but this post does!? wtf..
BOM's software is flakey at best. For example, once in a while I have to invoke task manager to kill the occasional thread when the script just stops executing. Usually brings down all IE windows at the same time...
I guess that makes two things the French are not good at ...

Some strange ones in there Hellboy. The French are actually pretty good at fighting wars, at least if you take it over a whole. Their 20th century performance was a bit poor I admit, but before that they were pretty good.
As a vegetarian I'd have to agree on the food part...the French do have some caveman type mentality towards food. I think their aeroplanes aren't too bad really either...and pretty sure French women are considered amongst the world's sexiest.

The let the Germans in to France and the police gave the jews away for slaughter -
There food is based on if it crawls in the garden cover it in garlic and butter and cook it - garlic puts taste in to horse crap let alone food.
most famous french guy was short and had a bad case of piles - and a bad temper but wouldnt you if you couldnt sit down.

Everybody on mainland Europe was beaten easily by the Germans, so it's not really fair to single out the French. The UK would have been crushed like an insignificant bug too if we'd been connected to the mainland.
But if you go 150 years previous, your friend with the piles was master of even more of europe, at least done by the French alone.
I am a little bit of a historian and the French have done pretty well to still be in existence against two warmongering neighbours like the english and germans. Maybe that's why they are so arrogant...I'm amazed you didn't list that one lol.

Great Quote from an English friend during a soccer (football) game : Boy, this is getting rough, it's starting to look like the Scottish Premier League!
OK, I'll forego having a go at the French, since they are our "benefactors" - esp. when it comes to the front-page popup ads & other bandwidth fromage.
Anyway, according to our benefactor's front page news here, it looks like Win7 is driving PC sales through the roof (well, if you can call 40% increase "through the roof" ). So JennyH - your prediction may just come true!

I went to our local pc store yesterday and I was amazed to see ~ half of the laptops on display had the new 'Vision' logo. AMD are really pushing this now, and tbh I think the partners are starting to realise that it is better for them to make a friend out of AMD.
Oh btw, sales 40% up on last year looks great until you realise that the market collapsed around about this time last year
It's more like business as usual, perhaps with a little rebound factor adding to sales. I am pretty close to making what looks like an absurd claim however...if AMD keeps this up and gets a decent break for a change (ie TSMC stop messing up ATI's huge graphics advantage) then I can see AMD making a lot of money this quarter.

Well let's not go bananas here . I've been to the local Best Buy this week and didn't see hardly any AMD laptops, let alone ones sporting glasses. And BB is one of the larger brick retailer chains here in the USA (Walmart probably being #1).
For example, this week I got an e-flyer from Costco (one of the more upscale warehouse "clubs" that sell everything from tires to pharmacy items) advertising their most popular Win7 computers, and AMD was featured in exactly 2 models: COSTCO

Believe it or nutz, I actually hope AMD does finally put their chestnuts out of the fire . For one thing, they have made Jen-Hsun look rather stupid, which is always a good thing in my book , even though I have had good experience with nVidia GPUs (as well as ATI GPUs). What I really dislike is overblown bombast which is what Jen-Hsun dishes out regularly (as has AMD "marketing", TBH)
However you have to remember that AMD has so overburdened itself with (really unnecessary) debt, that it'll be quite difficult to break even or make a profit. I really think that if AMD had waited 6-12 months before buying ATI, they could have gotten it at half the price or less. And surely their financial advisors knew that at the time, or else they were quite incompetent.
Or, there could have been other reasons why AMD jumped when they did, I guess, now that Ruiz has pretty much confirmed his insider trading involvement.
