It explains everything, but not that clearly. I'll start a thread on them.
I saw all that. So if anyone gives me troible I just say, "hey, I'm an Admiral bow your head?" Where does the forum show my ran to others? I'm planning on becoming The Creator.
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/profile-79494.htm
You have one "or" badge.
So, if someone clicks my profile my badges appear? Let's try you're profile. You have exactly the same merits i have? What?
Because those three are purely based on how long you've been registered.
I read that somewhere. I'll watch for your post on the subject. maybe I'll understand when you explain it. Confused.
Understand it? I don't understand it, that's why I posted a question (in the Structure section).
The page I linked first explains briefly what each of the badges are for but some make zero sense at all.
Yeah, Like MB's section I have a lot posts, but no merit badge. This Forum is becoming a question of how your badge situation is. The nOOBs may be PMing me asking about the 'badge merit system'. I'm going to look for you're thread.
You need "best answers" to get the section badges.
Cheif sharky to admiral badge, looks like I got em now too, so its admiral sharky for you from now on heheh
oh jeez,
I give up.
Why did they have to make it so hard?
Also, why don't I have the achievement/badge thingy for uploading an avatar?
*sigh*
This is awful.
Re-upload it?
meh, I like an ironic account
Wow Badge, 8160 posts and still not a Veteran?! I saw a member with 1400+ posts, IIRC and is a Veteran
You should have the title, mega-gigolo

I know. I'm mad about it. On another Forum I participate on regularily, I get more respect. There I singed up using Gorilla mail and log in using IP Shark.
I'd happily give you 2000 of my points
Most of the day the French techs are adding - points reducing my total. Must be the Escargo and a lack of a good wine and antacid to wash down the fat crawling bags of phelm they crave so much. Thanks, but I'll pass.
How do you fit a 300 pound frenchman into a matchbox?
knock the cr@p outta him

But seriously now. I repsect you. But thats just not fair, a n00bie with 1400 posts and "Veteran" rank
badge we can't give you any respect until you make us laugh ...
I personally love the French ...
Especially their programmers who seem to be very proficient.
lolz
AKM880 compare your account to mine ... see a few problems there?
Yup ![]()
Firstly you have 300+ posts than I do..
And secondly your still Apprentice. Hmmmm.....
Maybe posting more randomness and "^ +1's" should get you more points.
At the moment I don't know anyone else who beats me as far as this unfairness goes.
I ain't that bothered about it really, but still.
SS you renewed your avatar!
Yes, yes I have. Actually it is my desktop image, found it while looking for 19 x 12 wall papers and thought it was interesting.
SS I would weep for your soul however we all know you sold it for a copy of Radioactive Man #1.

Same situation here. Honorary veteran --> regular.
Surprised, even disappointed, but lacking the time to be bothered by it. Only skimmed a few pages, but the reaction here is understandable... If this change had been back when I lived in Graphics...ouch.
Hah, you are the new winner I think.
You beat me in having the worst post/points/title ratio I think.
Oh and reynod, I am sure that is a quote but can't think of it at the moment.
Time for a change...
You're not*wipes away tear* you're not leaving us are you.
*Hands out wet trouts*
You're not going to leave without a goodbye party!

Simpsons, Bart sold his soul to his mate with the glasses. IIRC
Ah yes lisa says that to him when he sold his soul to millhouse.
Knew I recognised it from somewhere, ta for that.
Oh no, I'm not going anywhere. I just figured it was time to update my avatar.

The veteran members were given approximately .33 (maybe less) points for prior posts to this new member ranking system. I know it took years to have thousands of posts. So going from Honorary veteran --> regular is worse, but barely than the 6000 points it will take you to become a (points) veteran now. You have almost half what is needed (2800+) for all you have contributed. All of this revamping of the member rankings is confusing. I see you were awarded the gold Admiral designation. Pinch me. We have figured out that anyone with a join date of like 1970 has the Gold Admiral distinction. No one has much of an idea what the merit badge in individual sections means. You have to accumilate a lot of best answer distinctions. Basically the nOObs get like 200 points for creating an account and posting a message. Then if they start more threads like, 'Help! My system is on fire!'' a nOOb can accumilate 6000 points is like six hours. Makes sense.

I think you and SS should check your control panel (click on new avatar and choose 'more'). Creating a new Avatar probally made you a Gold Admiral in the area of Avatar Creation.
No, but I think I got some points for it. Today isn't my day to be the drone, so I won't keep posting new ones to see what happens to my points.
You're new avatar is strong. A French surrender is imminent.
I say we kinap their wives and children and make them sort it out.
All their women are witches. They have been badly burned and have deformed phallesus.
Fcuk it let's just bitch and moan on the forums and hope they take notice.
Should I break out my IP Shark?
I think we have made some progress with all this protest. We have the lame Admiral thing to show for our efforts. The French tech guy must have been taken as a witch by mistake. Maybe not. His deformity is a reflection of the new member ranking system.
Edit due to potential fire caused deformity.
SS, weren't you a Gigolo? Or Master? Or Veteran?
11103 posts!!
Yes I was a gigolo.
Yes you may worship me.
I was withing a few posts of being one, and is why I dont understand why I jave sooooooooo many points?
I guess they (the french) want me to be ringleader to set appeasement? LOL

Yeah, I was within 20 posts of having 7900 Forum master. I couldn't believe it when I became a Regular from there. I would make a guess that during the entire history of Tom's hardware only 30-50 members have reached 7900 posts Forum master. Ha, much less the point totals of you guys. Like SS, Pauldh, JDJ, GGA and a few others. Now I know where you got Strangestranger from. Number 1 with emphasis.

I say fewer than 50 members have ever reached this number of posts or more.

18. 10600 Honorary Veteran of THGC
19. 12100 Honorary Fixture of THGC

I could have been "Faithful Poster" but....now I'm a "Regular".
