haha! Im just tired of the bickering. Not just in this thread but in others too. Bickering, Bitching and crying............ Exactly what is acomplished like that? I love this new points system!! I got a " Best Answer" for saying ^+1 xxxx's comments and switch out your HDD to a WD 640GB Black... now this is a system that works...

What was it Badge or TGGA said about noob's providing best answers?? Something about how can they, when they don't know what the hell they are doing...

I have a friend who modded a large pile of fake poop into a PC last year. Funny thing is he even used a crappy Via picoitx board too! on e of the funniest things ive ever seen.

I don't think I'd say that, might have been Badge (but I'm not assigning anything to anyone else), as there are some people who might just pop in to give a good answer, but here's an example of what likely initially got a "best answer" click by the OP, and resulted really in some false info wich I didn't notice until my initial reply;

Once again along the lines of what I will take credit for saying;
the Urban myth: 128bit always sucks and is always worse than 256bit memory
the Reality: the HD4770 with it's 128bit GDDR5 memory would kick the cognition out of the 512bit HD2900 ~99.44% of the time.

This is why the 'best answer' thing is far from perfect, and as for n00bs and such, I have nothing against them, but for some people who talked up their ability to advise on things, some of their recent advice was pretty poor considering they got their timelines and facts mixed up. [:thegreatgrapeape:6]

Anywhoo, like I said, it's not about rewarding noobs or punishing elders, it's about fostering the kind of activities you think are going to attract the right kind of people and contributions, and while the 'best answer' might be a step towards more porductive contributions, changing the titles, and names does NOTHING for the n00bz and simply pi$$es off those who were comfortable with something more creative than 'regular' or 'Admiral' (must really bug the pacifists :evil: ), and reducing people to the same level simply to start fresh on a new system does little to respect that which was done to build before, and accomplishes nothing for the new people either.

I don't care about my post count, title or any of that Jazz, what I care about affects my use of the forum deeper than that, and that's the types of discussions, threads, and people that are more attraced to the new forum, and then also that which we lose from the old forum. It's nothing to get worked up about (some people need to unplug [which has been the case for a while]) but it is something to both lament the passing of, and speak out against in the hope that it might do some good either now or in the future.

Anywhoo, the pain killers are kicking in, so it's time to get on the couch and watch me some TV and space out. :sleep:

I have thought the same at times! The problems is one persons good answer MAY not be someone elses and alot of times there are ALOT of opinions that go flipping out before thoughts are made *I'm guilty*

Some times the best answer isnt really based on whats best in price/perf or even best hardware. Most noobs really wont know the difference most of the time. More than likely if you can give Vista a 5.6 and above on graphics with 5.8-5.9 on the rest, most everyday people will be very happy. There are Many cheap products out there to acomodate almost anyones budget. Hence the reason why the need for forums like this one.

My point is that many people are giving suggestions...... THIS is good ...... Anyway most people can tell when there are BS answers given and it is up to the older and more experienced users to say "Hey wait a minute! .......... HOW FAST?" or whatever, as it has been Thousands possibly millions of times across the internet.

I like to get right up in the middle sometimes and maybe I push a little hard at times, but hey I try. I spend my life behind the screen it seems and somestimes I wonder why. Today I find myself starting a new job ...... at ANOTHER computer store. I wonder when Ill get away from it all. Reading, constantly constructing, torturing myself to get the perfect rig. Always scouting the next BEST piece of hardware. Maybe Im crazy! IDK..... maybe slighty more so than some users maybe less than others.
My point from that^ is I believe Everyone out there has a voice and that voice/opinion should be heard until its BS. ***Real Trolls*** and sometimes thats fun too!!
